"We’ve actually been here before, back when this was Quion Rock Wine Estate Restaurant, and returning now to Quartz Restaurant was incredibly special. What made it even more lovely is that we were welcomed by the same sommelier and waiter as all those years ago, Noel. Seeing that Noel is still here after so many years says everything, and once again he completely exceeded expectation! He is an outstanding sommelier, a fantastic waiter, and above all, someone who truly makes you feel at home! This time, our visit was extra meaningful as we’re now married and celebrating our honeymoon. We enjoyed a beautiful lunch, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was more than amazing. Noel’s warmth, knowledge, and genuine care really made our whole day! Everyone was so kind, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the wines are simply exceptional, we couldn’t resist buying several bottles to take home. For the service, the food, the wine, and the atmosphere, it’s five stars across the board. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommend to everyone, and a special thank you to Noel for making our visit unforgettable."

"An unforgettable dining experience with a well-thought-out tasting menu and exceptional wine pairing. The Oopsie with egg and caviar was a standout—delicate and perfectly balanced. The braaied lamb was another highlight, packed with flavor and complemented by a bold Cabernet Sauvignon. Each course was beautifully presented, from the forest mushrooms with pasta to the indulgent baked Alaska. The service was top-notch, and the setting made it even more special. Definitely worth setting aside the four hours to savor every bite!"

"Choice between a 3 or 4 course lunch...4 course include a 2nd starter...3 course was more than enough and super delicious...from the fresh sourdough bread with biltong and Marmite butter to the cinnamon macarons at the end. Service was delivered with a smile...we'll be back"

"My experience at Gate was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The Service was 5 star! The food was 100/10! Fine dining at its best ! Perfectly seasoned , perfectly plated every dish was paired with a specific wine , I could not fault it at all. The staff explained every dish and the wine so profoundly that it definitely reminded me of my childhood just as Chef Paul had intended. What a nostalgic experience darling!"

"Had a unforgettable dining experience at Gate. Upon entering the restaurant, the design and architecture is something to marvel at. We were greeted very friendly and professionally by the hostess who then proceeded to show us to our table. The waiters were professional and very knowledgeable explaining each dish and matching wine in great detail. The dishes were absolute masterpieces and we enjoyed every bite. The wines were also of exceptional quality. Thank you to the very talented team at Gate for a fantastic evening."

"We had a wonderful lunch at the new Quartz restaurant at Quoin Rock wine estate. As frequent guests of the former Gåte restaurant, we were very excited how Quartz would be. We received a warm welcome from Theswyn, who recognized us as well from our former visits. He served us perfectly through the whole menu. Edmund, the new head chef explained us his new concept of his menu where the food follows the great Quoin Rock wines and we ca fully confirm that his concept works perfectly. "My 4th time here and it is always a great experience The food was good. They don't have many vegetarian options unless you prior book & let them know. Can't complain about the beautiful views of the mountains all around you whilst you eat Wish they would have more cocktails available"

"We visited Quartz Restaurant at Quion Rock again after 2 years, and it was such a joy to return. Even though the restaurant has changed, the feeling of warmth and quality certainly hasn’t. One of the highlights was being served by Noel, the sommelier who has been there for 6 years. We recognized each other from our previous visit. It’s wonderful to see that he’s still here, and his service remains absolutely exceptional. Noel is an excellent sommelier, incredibly knowledgeable about the wines, and genuinely welcoming, he immediately makes you feel comfortable and at home. This visit was especially meaningful for us as we were celebrating our honeymoon. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch, every dish was beautifully prepared, and the service throughout was outstanding. Also, do the paired wine menu! The atmosphere was relaxed and elegant, and everyone we encountered was kind and attentive. There aren’t a lot of restaurants who offer such a wide range of their own wines, all unique. We ended up purchasing several bottles to take home with us. Overall, this experience made our entire day and left a lasting impression for the second time. 5 stars all around"
